Let the Sun Shine.......

Apr 16 2008

I love this time of year, the sun starts peeking out from behind Jack frost and Rocky Neck starts to come alive. Gallery owners and tenders start to make guest appearances on the 'Neck, people are smiling, saying "welcome back" Everyone seems SO READY for some nice weather and Rocky Neck action. The Resteraunters are hard at work preparing for the season. The Rudder always has the first action on the street. The owners diligently hammering away at mini-projects and upgrades with the head chef always around lending a hand or 2. I have never seen any establishment work as hard as they do to look good for the public and turn out a solid product. The Rudder will serve a great Martini BUT I believe their food and atmosphere is what keeps it the most popular Spot on the Neck for dinner. There are lines every night they are open...which is fine for the Black Sheep as we are DIRECTLY across from the rudder and there overflow has become my hobby. Around the corner we have The Madfish Grille, a party spot here on the Neck. The food is good in my book as I stick to pub fare Gloucetser Style (fish food...LOVE IT) and the party is almost Non-Stop. It is the place to realx with a beverage of your choice and to enjoy Smith Cove. There is nothing like relaxing with a cold one as your eyes drift away with the seagulls and slow moving water vessels....about as alm as you want it to be by day and as wild as you need it to be by night. Live music every thur-Sunday-----be prepared for fun and thrsty guests. About 200 yards away and to the right of the Black Sheep Gallery is the Studio, I actuall love the Studio and its peaceful attitude on the Neck. The owner of the aforementioned Madfishe and the Studio passed a few years back, God rest his soul..Frankie Ahern.......and his widow runs the Madfish while his daughter and mother run the Studio. "Up and coming" is one way to describe the Studio, a past favorite on the Neck, franks passing was not easy to get over.....his daughter is working VERY HARD to get things back as they were nd she will do it sooner or later. They have the biggest and the best deck BY FAR on the Neck with a quaint little Bar and tons of room to wander and chat. I found myself here more often than not as the Black Sheep Boat resides here Thanx to KIM the owner of the Studio. The food is good, the drinks are great and everyone is friendly for the most part....I have this dream of a stone oven Pizza joint and sushi bar on the water...lets see if it ever happens, I hope Kim likes the idea. NOT to be outdone at all, is Sailor Stans break and Lunch and specialty rest. around the corner. It is the first ting you see as you come down the neck and a local favorite hang out with great food, fun, and whatever else you want it to be, just let Karen know and she wil figure it out for you!!

I will chat about the galleries in my next blog now that I have mentioned the food and drink on the 'Neck.....Food and drink and laughter and enjoying life are a HUGE part of the 'Neck...PLEASE come experience what we have to offer, I promise you will leave with at least ONE great story....probably about 2-3 depending on how long you stay. When you stop in to the Black Sheep ask me anything about the 'neck and what to do, ask about the history, I have many great stories and if I can't think of a good oneI will make it up on the spot and you will never know the diference...BUT you will leave laughing!!  Thanx for reading and I hope to see you soon as we wil be open MAY 1ST Full Time!!!  'till next time.....and remember, being The Black Sheep is a good thing!

I found some time to blog away

Apr 12 2008

I have been out-of-my-mind-busy with life and have not been able to blog lately, HOWEVER, I have shopped the competition and I got a good laugh on this one particular site of a women who uses her Blog to brag about how wonderful her sea-glass jewelry is. i think one should always advocat for themself, but going overboard has a drowning effect. Authentic sea-glass is out there, it lies on the beaches of the world. Different colors and shapes are found in different places due to different cultures using different types of bottles, glass-ware, etc. Some sea-glass is older than other sea-glas and can be dated by the washed effect on the glass. BUT when artisans just BUY SEA-GLASS in bulk and then advertise it as if they found it themselves while they make up a ficticious story about the origins I take issue. THEN they brag about how awesome it is and how awesome they are when they wrapped some wire around it, well this just completes the humor. As P.T. Barnum once said....."A sucker is born every minute"  If your buying sea-glass from anyone you can not meet and believe the stories then P.T. has you pegged.

Please beware is my point...Make sure you can meet the artisan or at least visit the Gallery.

As luck would have it, we just happen to have a Gallery called The Black Sheep Gallery with all the sea-glass you will ever need. Our Grand meet and greet event is June 14th and we will be open full time on May 1st, 6 days a week from 9-7..Tuesday thru Sunday.

NEW AUTHENTIC SEA-GLASS and New family member.

Apr 01 2008

Colleen Marie Has joined The Black Sheep Gallery. As a past student of Mig lemire, Colleen brings pure talent and expertise to the table with her incredible bracelets and necklaces. Mig and Colleen, having respect for eachother and professional ethics, will be creating designs that compliment eachother without overlap allowing the customer a larger choice of Artisan Sea-Glass. We consider ourselves Lucky to have the two TOP designers of Sea-Glass in the area. Both Mig and Colleen are the original designers of many of the most popular styles on the market today. We had a wonderful choice of sea-glass artisans to have in our gallery and feel we have selected the top original designers in the area. If it is not from the Black Sheep Gallery it is not the Gold Standard!!

Elizabeth Benson of The Dove Haven Studio has joined the Black Sheep Family and has graced our walls with her "easy on the eyes" art. Please come see Elizabeths work and let us know what you think. I Love her creations and I am pretty sure you all will agree! She has left some matted prints as well to cover everyones financial range. Much of her ar is from scenes around Gloucetser and other "Port" areas. If you enjoy the rocky shores and coastlines of Northern New England than you will love Elizabeths art. Hope to se you all soon!!

Do Not get lost in the crowd, stand out like the individual you were meant to be...............Black Sheep wear is here!! We just accepted delivery of our first line of shirts. We have very stylish Golf Shirts in two colors.....White with Black trim and Royal Bule...Both have the soon to be Famous Black Sheep logo on the breast and are made to last with 100% cotton, talk about comfort!

The t-shirts come in eight (8) colors and look incredible. Built for comfort and longevity we have the Logo on the front breast and large logo with "Gold Standard" on the back. We chose some bright colors and some "regular guy" colors to fit everyones taste. They will be on the web-site to order within a week or two. We are selling the shirts at just over cost. The T-shirts are only $15 and the Golf shirts are only $20. I promise you this is not much over cost as we used top-shelf  material and Inks that are guareented for many years from the Anvil Company. I will also throw in a $10 pouch of sea-glass to the first 50 shirts sold!! The sea-glass is authentic sea-glass from the beaches of the North Shore and some pouches contain Cobalt blue pieces!  My duaghter spent many hours collecting the sea-glass and the proceeds WILL GO TO HER EDUCATION!  Thank you for the support and you will be proud to say you were one of the first to own a Black Sheep Gallery shirt.

Become a part of History....."Paint with the stars" on Rocky Neck

Mar 16 2008
We will be adding a wonderful feature to the Black Sheep this summer. We have partnered  with a local business and will now have the ability to allow anyone visiting the Black Sheep to create as the artist do in Americas oldest working Art Colony. We now offer everyone, young and old, to make a ceramic work of art. How many times can you say "I created a work of art in America's oldest working Art Colony". Bring home a piece of history with your own ceramic masterpiece. Enjoy sitting on the deck as you gaze at Smith Cove while you paint like the artists of Rocky Neck. Finish it off with an ever-lasting coat of glaze that will shine forever. Why just look when you can play. I look FWD to seeing everyone create while they tour the Neck. Please stop by to bring home a true memory of The Rocky Neck Art Colony. Children and adults alike are welcome to "Stay and Play" here at The Black Sheep.  Enjoy the sunrise and sunset from the deck, I hope you are able to watch them with us someday.  :)

Word Of Mouth Jewelry is BACK!!!

Mar 15 2008

After a search around the Globe for Unique Art that meets the "Gold Standard" in our private Vintage WWII  Bomber I am happy to announce "Word of mouth Jewelry" is back at the Black Sheep. Pam and Jessica Healy, a daughter and Mother-in-law team, have joined us for another year of fun and games. Word of mouth was one of the original artisans of the Black Sheep and had a solid season last year. It is great to have them back and I hope everyone comes in ASAP to see the wonderful Jewelry they create for all of you. .......................SO, TO RECAP...We have Mig Lemire and her incredible Sea Glass Jewelry and Other assorted goodies, We Have Savlen Studios back with Top Notch Marine art, and now we have Word Of Mouth Jewelry. Nancy Adams is on board with her whimiscal style of Sea Glass as well as Andrea Stoehr with her Sun Catchers and bracelets. We also have Jewelry by Mickey who presents earring, necklace and bracelet combos with flare and color.

On the artist side of the coin we have Ling Lee and her unbelievable Giclee' prints, Savlen originals and Giclee' prints. Jan Blancowe's oil on canvas are second to none and priced at just over 1k she is the BEST VALUE on Rocky Neck. Carol Hicks and her eye for dramatic colors will show you how Monet would have photographed had he owned a Camera. Karl W. presents a local flavor of Rockport and Gloucester from the eyes of a fisherman guru whom has lived his life on Cape Ann. Donna O'niels photos are pure studio grade and capture the essence of summer on the North Shore. A new-comer is Carolyn W. with UNDERWATER photos of the world we never sea (get it, I used sea to spell see because I am so witty).....its early and I am tired, sorry about that one. My daughter, Danielle, The Danielle whom has ethics and a heart, has collected more sea glass than the Beaches itself and has wrapped some of her collection in a gold arrangement and will be selling her hard work and sea colors to start saving for her education........ I believe she will be asking $5 large for each bundle of JOY.

The Black Sheep will be increasing its holding of foreign claywork and Unique art-ware as my brother still lives over-seas with his beautiful wife, Dina, and my god-daughter Ariel along with his handsome son Maxime. He has sent us some Handmade bowls, tea-sets and plates that can never be found in the states EXCEPT for here at the Black Sheep!!  Phiney-ware is another artisan whom will also be joining us again this summer with her useable clay-work and mugs and when you add in the Blown Glass art we can honestly say we have a Full house of UNIQUE ART here at THE BLACK SHEEP!!!!  We are stocked and ready for the season..........AND.........Before I forget we now Have Black Sheep-Ware with Great Adult and Kids T-Shirts in 8 different colors AND Golf Shirts with the famous Black Sheep LOGO!!!!!!!!!

Every inch of the Gallery is shiny and new with artwork bulging at the seams......shop early and often to get the best deals here at the Black Sheep as the tourists will be here soon to empty us out!  (I hope).

ALWAYS remember, if you want it I can Most likely GET IT!!  I lived Overseas in Germany in the US ARMY as a supply specialists and my brother continues his over the pond adventures so WE have contacts everywhere!! We both lived in California, our other brother LIVES in florida and the youngest of our brother clan has lived in Alaska, Oregon, Ohio, Utah, Colorado and a few other places I can not tell you. Three of the Four brothers, including myself, attended UMASS AMHERST and our father is from SOUTHIE............OUR network is large and unconventional.....take advantage of our knowledge so we can bring you the ART you would love to have!!!

Starting MID-April we will be open 6 days a week 'till Christmas '08. We accept Plastic, Paypal, and Cash. We have been known to barter and "making a deal" is our way of life. SO C'mon down and say HI....we are ready and waiting for you!!!!   :)

Did you miss me??

Mar 07 2008

I have been walking the beaches of Gloucester with my two children looking for the ultimate in ses glass. We found a spot that seems to generate alot of BLUE sea-glass compared to other areas that produce nada. It is a great little spot below an old washed out dock that was used for lovers and the such to watch the moon rise while the liquid spirits went down. Many an old wine bottle (or pieces of) now sit in the Black Sheep Gallery. Pretty cool stuff if you ask me.

I love having pieces that are truly "found" and wonder why customers would buy sea glass jewelry purchased from wholesalers in bulk? I once read someones site warning customers to beware of inflated prices from other sea glass jewelers and I wonderd why would they accuse others of inflated prices? When sea glass is "found" on the beach there is no price tag on it, they must be talking about those who buy in bulk from wholesalers I guess.

We are supposed to be having fun while we share and help others in the art world. looking for Sea Glass is family time for us....people who do not play well with others is a sad situation. I guess we need to be careful of those who do not play well with others....... I think there is a reason for this and all the beach dust in the world can not hide the truth.

We here at The Black Sheep Gallery consider our team a family. We have over 10 different artist and 7 different artisans. We hope to open another Black Sheep Gallery in the Plaistow, NH area in the summer of '09 as negotiations are well under way. We will be connected with another business already doing well and with our brand name and customer base set it should be great fun!

Colaboration and playing well with others is what life is all about. When anyone comes down to The Rocky Neck Art Colony they will discover a world of artists and artisans working together as a community. We are a "community" and live the lifestyle of such. What we are not is a single entity pumping out sea glass jewelry purchased in bulk for pure profit. WE promise you that!  Come visit the Rocky Neck Art Colony and while you are here please stop into the Black Sheep Gallery.

I would like to chat about Mig Lemire. To get to the point, how wonderful she really is as I have heard from more than one of her students whom learned how to wrap sea glass from her at The Bead Gallery in Salem, NH. "She is the best and the original" sums most of it up. " I got started because of her technique and I see others using what they learned to start their own business".  Mig Lemire does seem to have started the latest in Sea glass jewelry as almost every piece of sea glass for sale on the web that is not drilled looks like her style that she teaches at The Bead Gallery. She is unique, humble and has a heart the size of my mortgage. (Its a big one). I feel lucky to have her here as the lead artisan at the Black Sheep Gallery. This, however, does not take away from any of the other wonderful artisans we have here. Mig was with us last year and really stepped up this year into an expanded role per my request when I felt left behind the eight ball.....SO......Thank you Mig for being you! When you see her style in our Gallery and on her website www.chermigyll.com  please remember she is the original (at least in my book) as she taught everyone I know how to do what she does. Look at the styles of others and then compare with MIG LEMIRE, she was the first and remains the GOLD STANDARD! As we say here at The Black Sheep Gallery,

"Mother Nature created Sea Glass and Mig Lemire turns it into Jewelry with love and care".

One of our other very talented sea glass artisans is Nancy adams whom lives in gloucester and combs the beaches on a regular basis. She is about as sweet as suga' and creates some incrdible jewery. Her style is different from Mig which fits well with our team as this will allow all of us to have a choice when it comes to sea glass here at The Black Sheep. Nancy also does alot of "Shard" work using old pottery, china plates and the likes........talk about UNIQUE!!

Nancy will be around this summer, come met her and ask her about her sea glass and shards......you will be glad you did.

When looking for Genuine Sea glass

Just remember:  The Black Sheep stands out even when things seem cloudy....

My Next mission is to ask the web master to add a spell check!

Read me......The best way to measure a society ......................

Feb 29 2008

is how it treats its weakest member. when I see how we treat eachother I want to cry. We can be fantastic and sharing, the problem is we can also be insanely cruel and self-absorbed. Can one really sleep well if they know they allowed a family member, I am talking about a brother, sister, son, daughter, go homeless or forclosed upon when you know you have more than the ample funds to help?? I know we can rationalize it as many do be saying its their fault, they should have worked harder. BUT they forget that perhaps they did work very hard, caught a bad break, injury, they cared for someone else and fell into a situation because of it. There are a million reasons why some end up down and out. Just as many reasons why some end on top. Some had a father with money that allowed her to stay at his home rent free with her kids for 10 years in a nice town. some have trust funds, many screw the weaker, the honest, the moral, the fair and steal their money in socialy acceptable ways. THE real issue I have is the 'haves" thatgot it because of a father or someone helping them and NOW  they preach a "let them do it on their own to learn while I sit on my daddys money and travel the world." They Play favorites and split families with the lure of money. Money does starnge things to people, I have witnessed families break apart over $$, I have been part of it. I have seen friends become enemies. Enemies become allies, all because of the all-mighty dollar. I play the game as well, I pretend to like people I detest. I am not good at hiding my feelings BUT I have to for te love I have for some.SO love does become strenght I guess, BUT I am sad o see the ones I love treat me and others like dirt over $$, thus proven their is no love in that persons heart??  Did money really change that person that much?? Or did they never really love them in the first place. Memeories fade for some, especialy if it does not fit into their perfect little world. Do I want to be or have my children part of that world?? Not really, but because I have love i can do what will help my children. they need to see love in order to realize the pwoer of it. $$ is going to effect them sooner or later, I want them to realize the difference between inner peace and the love of money. If I could change the past and start over with a diferent outcome would I ?? Eight years ago I would have said YES in a heart beat. that was 8 years ago, my oldest is now 7, I would not change anything if I meant I would not have her or my son, I love them more than I have ever loved anyone on this earth. I love my wife, I love my father and my brothers........My love for my children is impossible to put into words, i just sat here for about 3 minutes staring at the blinking icon trying to think of a witty numeration, I could not find one high enough to print. If i who has been treated like a piece of garbage from my own family have so much love for my children than how come there are so many homeless children in our Country?/ Why are there so many homeless teens, adults, elderly, WTF is going on that we allow our "brothers" and "sisters" to sleep on the streets and stare at them and/or ignore them as we walk to the 5-star eatery after we left our BMW while we wear our faux mink stole. Trace your roots people, I Promise you we all have a relative living or had lived like both of those scenerios. I Gaurentee it and challenge anyone out there to dispute it. Every family line has been on both sides of the coin in one way or another. It Happens, mental health issues are real, bad luck is real, BAD things happen to good people, and as crappy as it seems, good things happen to bad people. It is a Random world, sure Karma has a lot to do with it, BUT good luck and timing and being at the right place at the right time helps, as does the reverse hurt.

BY Now you are asking, if you are still reading, What the heck does this have to do with fine art and Jewelry?  Well it has everything to do with both. I sit here typing this today as I look at Smith Cove here in Gloucester, ma. wondering how I ended up with an art gallery in my home?? It's simple, We all adapt to our environment and do what we have to do to survive. I live in an art colony, I ended up here because a parent sucked me into the area with $$ as the carrot. I need to make money for my family and my wife works her Butt off in the home and NOW out as an RN once again. Will the Black Sheep Gallery be all that I want it to be?? I believe it will. I could jack-up the prices as many do, I could try the fast hard sell and run it like a tyrant, BUT I chose the family approach and my vendors are becoming my friends....it ia a slow process as we are no semi-seasonal and I need full time income to remain a solvent family, Do I have family who could help, SURE I do, One brother stepped up, rather 2 brothers stepped up Big and helped when things were tough, the 2 brothers with the least incomes stepped up to help, funny how that works. the money people in the family were not so interested. I understand, we are a step family and money is thicker than blood. BUT when one of the "older" family members of the female gender called her bio children to specify not to help, well that just proved my theory..the best thing was I nor anyone one of the good brothers needed the money at that particular time, it was a test to see what was thicker. family, Money, blood. As we thought, the lines were drawn right down the bllod and money line, as will always be in this and almost every American family. money has become more powerful than love, care, kindness, and the will to help a family member, never mind a stranger. So we play the game, we move on and see eachother on the holidays less and less, I try to see the family members I love, as they do I. I hope veryone in My family reads this, as I hope everyone from a family with split members does also. I hope we all realize, including myself, HOW SAD it is money has become more important than family, love, careing and kindness. Next blog will be lighter, I promise. Please bring the troops home alive and soon and people........I would go on but politics gets peole more upset than money sometimes. God Bless all who read my rant and come visit me or retort at your free will. thanx. :) Paul

A winters day on Rocky neck

Feb 22 2008

I almost forgot it was still winter. We had a few customers the other day, a few good sales and some nice conversation. I was ready for summer!!    As I sit here and blog away I am looking at the snow gently fall on the top rail of the deck and gather on the boat moored across Smith cove....a relaxing scens BUT not condusive to shoppers!!  my daughter and I have sorted through the monster jar of sea-glass we found on niles beach the other day and have selected many pieces suitable to be turned into sea-Glass Jewelry. YES we Find our sea-glass, we do not buy it from wholsalers as I have indicated on our homepage.

Back to my point of missing the warm weather. I need the Red Sox to take the field in Fenway and forget that thing called the something bowl that was played a few weeks ago. The cable T.V. is ready on the Black Sheep Deck to show everyone EVERY game of the redsox season...we have updates, highlites, scores, we may even start our own Black Sheep sports show.....its great to hear tourists poke at the Sox and praise their home team. I respect them and love the conversations. from the south we get alot of College sports fans, more-so than out west and in our area. College hoop, College football...not much about College Base Ball. I am sure I will hear all about how the Pats cheated and how Bellcheat is no good, I already have my retotrts ready.  Maybe I will Mis-remember what reall happend and tell a story or 2 about clemens and the rest of the HGH gang. I did think petit looked somewhat remorseful and was somewhat believable, and I hate him, so there has to be something to it. maybe I just Mis-heard him and Mis-understood him. I know bellecheck Mis-understood the rules and the Giants Mis-rembered who was supposed to win the super bowl. I hope Obama does not mis-quote mr. Patrick anytime soon, thats gotta be tough to misremember someone else wrote the speech, that cold happen to anybody, Right??

OK, so humans mis-behave and we try not to miss our bills, but I miss my customers and my wife does not miss me but does miss her shoe collection. my son misremembers to clean up and my ankle mis-remembers how to walk when I dont miss the ground with my hip on his matchbox, anyone miss those little matchbox cars?? Ya me to a little. I miss gas at one dollar, I dont miss paying more for my sons pre-k education than I paid for one year at UMASS AMHERST undergrad, i miss the parties and misremeber many-a-night BUT I am glad I do not misremember some of my friends from there, i even rembered my girlfriend and married her much to her mothers miss-happines and mutual mis-understanding of eachother. BUT My Father-in-Law was a very good man and I do MISS him, God rest his soul. I am lucky my father is still alive as I would miss him most of all. Speaking of missing things what ever happend to drive-in movie theatres, I wicked miss them. HD drive-ins with the girlfriend...could be a night not to mis-remember.

Ya its getting old, I was on a roll and the snow is picking up...Lobster boats look so peaceful as they rest on the water surface with the lone gull perched on the Ratheon dish.

Well i thank you for reading my rant about a snowey day on the Neck. If you want to really play with your eyes, stare at the image below and count the amount of times your eyes mis-focus and mis-remember that first time you really "understood" what Pink Floyd meant by "we are all just bricks in the wall"   peace for now......

Busy week

Feb 21 2008

Thank you Pam Parisi....I will guess Pavilion Beach is in Naples FL??  Lovely area, Mig Lemire found and created the Red sea-glass into the wearable treasure it is today, I will send her your comment...THANK YOU!!!!! I bet she would not even mind if you decide to buy it   :)

Well I have been enjoying the week with my children whom now both have Strep throught, poor kids, dont even get to miss school. Plenty of Ice Cream and some anti-biotics should do the trick.

To piggyback Pam Parisi and her love of collecting red Sea-glass, We at The Black Sheep Gallery find most if not all of our sea-glass on the shores of the east-coast and beyond. Is this how other artisans acquire their sea-glass??? mmmmmmmmmmmmm.......... I think not ..BUT..That is a topic for another day... I will leave it alone for now....perhaps I will never need to elaborate...time will tell.

Well, I realize I have not been Blogging much as of late but as the summer grows closer I will be on more and more.....

....we get ready for fun and games with our little loved ones. Some parents dread this week...I fell sorry for them....I now have an excuse to act like a child and do what they want to do.......I will be able to let Danielle re-arrange the jewelry in the gallery amongst the showcases, Paul will follow suite and then Danielle and I will clean up after him....GOOD TMIES!! I actually enjoy watching young hands try to do their best and create....I watch their minds shift gears and eyes wander around the art. Remember the days when helping your dad was awesome, hanging out with an adult that loved you no matter what. I remember feeling invincible, I got a "good job" no matter how it came out, life was good. BUT then I had to grow up...... OH WELL..... I now have my own little girl and guy I can make feel just as great, and thats all I need. Please enjoy the week WITH your children, not trying to fill the days with stuff to get to the next day.

You will never be loved as much as your child will love you, love them back, they need it as much as we do.

Roger Clemens guilty or NOT

Feb 14 2008
here is my biased opinion, roger did not play hard at all when wearing a RED SOX uniform (as I saw it) and I believe he is not the sharpest knife in the drawer (even though he makes more than I dream about) I feel he needed to win to keep his head up high as he has it and as age snuck up on him he felt he needed an edge. He got his edge from HGH, his wife got an edge as well. So, as Mis-understood and Mis-rembered as he is Clemens will be forever known as the pitcher who used HGH and was ratted out. Any other opinions out there?? I am not saying I am 100% correct, but I tink i may be.

Life Lessons are not free

Feb 12 2008

Being I am an old man of 42 with a Masters Degree, Honorable discharge from the United states Army, large family, wife and 2 children one would think I could tell when people are blowing smoke up my smokestack.....well this is not always the case..........PEOPLE...........I am sure you know all this, BUT, do not believe everything you are told when dealing with MONEY. Money changes people, we become different, we get wrong, we do things without thinking and we alienate others. Life is not about money, no one should be judged by the size of the house they live in or what the size of their paycheck is. Judge others on how they treat you and only you. It's wonderful that they treat others with respect and love, THIS does not mean they are going to treat you in the same manner, I hope they do, BUT I am finding that if there is nothing "in it" for them they won't. There are some humans out there that have inner peace and love in their heart....find that person, marry them, befriend them, do business with them, let your children play with their children and send me an email with their contact info so I can do the same.

I spent 11 years as a clinical Social worker and listend to more BS rhetoric than I could swallow, I can honestly state that every person had a hidden agenda and treated those with power, money, and contacts much better than those without. EVEN if the "power" people were complete jerks, the "without's" were treated like trash and the "with's" were treated with respect and smiles. I would hear from directors of large clinics, and I quote " That so and so is a sonaffa gun, but I need to be nice so we get the contratc......... I hate that guy but I gotta tell everybody he is great because he can help me financialy. IMAGINE a world when people treated poeple with respect and love without worrying about the money outcome. I would like to put 100 people in a room, all dressed somewhat alike as far as quality of clothes, all hygene about the same and see who befriends who. THEN bring everyone out and tell our life positions................I would look around to see the affect on everyones face, they eyes go up, the heads go down, the smiles of the ones who picked a wealthy new friend, the look of those who just befriended a homeless person. If anyone has done this or has the whereabouts toput it together, let me know and I wil help you!!

OK< OK<  I will make my point, The Black Sheep Gallery is fairly new and I have met many artist's, artisans, painters, sculpters, photo guys and gals, etc....Most are happy when we chat and they get some space here, I look for unique, exquisite, different art from an artist thatworks with his or her heart, and I found a few.......but when money jumped in the picture as it always does, some of these artisans changed, almost over night, the love of art was gone, they now had a love of money instead and told me so.....not in those words but ACTIONS speak ouder than words as we all know. The artisans that are here in the Black Sheep Gallery understand the balance betwen money and treating poeple as you treat yourself, with respect. We are a seasonal Gallery trying to become a year-round gallery. Poeple I love very much judge me by how well I do and how well I may do, if we lose everything and fall down my"friends" will be easy to count, IF we become the next Blackdog, my friends will be everywhere. Even some of you reading this will feel differently about me................. WE started this Gallery, my wife, my children and I because we live in the heart of Americas oldest working Art colony and fell in love with the lifestyle of having your own "nitch" in life. We love meeting new people, I love talking (to a fault at times), and I love the fact that my children are learning how to treat everyone they meet with respect while realizing we must "do something" to earn a living. I teach my children life is not about money, BUT, in a capitalisic society money is a governing factor. NEVER hurt yourself or anyone else to earn money, if you do you Karma will settle things, I promise you this!!

We all seem to chase the almighty dollar, please walk slow and proud during your chase and do not step on others along the way. Remember the ones without the new toys and shiney cars, they are just as deserving as we are and need love as we all do. Hard work should be rewarded and competition is good, it is what keeps us improving ourselves and keeps us honest. Everyone wins the race they run by themself, a real winner wins the race they worked hard to be ready for against the best out there. BUT the ones that come in 2nd, 3rd, and on are still people that should be treated just as the winner......

For whoever reads this please let me know when you find those of us that are respectful of everybody. The wealthy, the powerful, the indigent and the unfortunate. Luck goes both ways people.....you get what you give.....even after you meet your maker!

OMG The Pats lost

Feb 04 2008

I have been a Boston sports fan since I was a child and my father put me in his rockin' chair to watch the Bruins. Ilistend to his misery for years over the Sox and the pats. Whe I was a little older the Celtics were on top with Larry bird, McHale, D.J., the Chief (Parish) and danny Ainge. its just the last few years I have been able to watch the Pats and Sox without crying and hearing trash talk from New York fans and every one else. I was at the first Super Bowl the Pats won when they beat the Rams,it was Incredible, I found myself hugging sweaty fat men in blue shirts with a smile on my face, out of context it sounds rough. Thats how I long we fans waited till we won it all.  As the years went on from that day, the Sox did it in "04 and last year. This would have been the pats 4th in seven years, a true Dynasty. They are still a true Dynasty, HOWEVER, I ate my heart last night and had a stomach ache like the old days, but worse,we were the favorite, we were supposed to win, it hurt bad, real bad, it still hurts. I have avoided the radio and tv, I cannot relive it for a while.

I do want to give ELI  Manning and the giants Defense all the credit in the world, HOW he made that pass to whats his name in the middle of 6 pats hands on his shirt and that completion was the best I have seen, it was surreal to me, I knew it was over right then and there, it was the Giants day to shine. Eli manning did it, the biggest upset in his lifetime, I am proud and impressed, i like him more than his brother, he is humble and gets the job done!! He reminds me of Tom Brady when he was a nobody backing up bledsoe. SO, Upset and sick I am, it was a great season and the pats, on paper is the better team, that is why they play the game. My hat is of the giants, great job, you did it, you reminded me what it really feels like to be a TRUE Boston Sports fan, and to all the bandwagon fans out there, NOW you know what a real fan feels like game in and game out.
