Being I am an old man of 42 with a Masters Degree, Honorable discharge from the United states Army, large family, wife and 2 children one would think I could tell when people are blowing smoke up my smokestack.....well this is not always the case..........PEOPLE...........I am sure you know all this, BUT, do not believe everything you are told when dealing with MONEY. Money changes people, we become different, we get wrong, we do things without thinking and we alienate others. Life is not about money, no one should be judged by the size of the house they live in or what the size of their paycheck is. Judge others on how they treat you and only you. It's wonderful that they treat others with respect and love, THIS does not mean they are going to treat you in the same manner, I hope they do, BUT I am finding that if there is nothing "in it" for them they won't. There are some humans out there that have inner peace and love in their heart....find that person, marry them, befriend them, do business with them, let your children play with their children and send me an email with their contact info so I can do the same.
I spent 11 years as a clinical Social worker and listend to more BS rhetoric than I could swallow, I can honestly state that every person had a hidden agenda and treated those with power, money, and contacts much better than those without. EVEN if the "power" people were complete jerks, the "without's" were treated like trash and the "with's" were treated with respect and smiles. I would hear from directors of large clinics, and I quote " That so and so is a sonaffa gun, but I need to be nice so we get the contratc......... I hate that guy but I gotta tell everybody he is great because he can help me financialy. IMAGINE a world when people treated poeple with respect and love without worrying about the money outcome. I would like to put 100 people in a room, all dressed somewhat alike as far as quality of clothes, all hygene about the same and see who befriends who. THEN bring everyone out and tell our life positions................I would look around to see the affect on everyones face, they eyes go up, the heads go down, the smiles of the ones who picked a wealthy new friend, the look of those who just befriended a homeless person. If anyone has done this or has the whereabouts toput it together, let me know and I wil help you!!
OK< OK< I will make my point, The Black Sheep Gallery is fairly new and I have met many artist's, artisans, painters, sculpters, photo guys and gals, etc....Most are happy when we chat and they get some space here, I look for unique, exquisite, different art from an artist thatworks with his or her heart, and I found a few.......but when money jumped in the picture as it always does, some of these artisans changed, almost over night, the love of art was gone, they now had a love of money instead and told me so.....not in those words but ACTIONS speak ouder than words as we all know. The artisans that are here in the Black Sheep Gallery understand the balance betwen money and treating poeple as you treat yourself, with respect. We are a seasonal Gallery trying to become a year-round gallery. Poeple I love very much judge me by how well I do and how well I may do, if we lose everything and fall down my"friends" will be easy to count, IF we become the next Blackdog, my friends will be everywhere. Even some of you reading this will feel differently about me................. WE started this Gallery, my wife, my children and I because we live in the heart of Americas oldest working Art colony and fell in love with the lifestyle of having your own "nitch" in life. We love meeting new people, I love talking (to a fault at times), and I love the fact that my children are learning how to treat everyone they meet with respect while realizing we must "do something" to earn a living. I teach my children life is not about money, BUT, in a capitalisic society money is a governing factor. NEVER hurt yourself or anyone else to earn money, if you do you Karma will settle things, I promise you this!!
We all seem to chase the almighty dollar, please walk slow and proud during your chase and do not step on others along the way. Remember the ones without the new toys and shiney cars, they are just as deserving as we are and need love as we all do. Hard work should be rewarded and competition is good, it is what keeps us improving ourselves and keeps us honest. Everyone wins the race they run by themself, a real winner wins the race they worked hard to be ready for against the best out there. BUT the ones that come in 2nd, 3rd, and on are still people that should be treated just as the winner......
For whoever reads this please let me know when you find those of us that are respectful of everybody. The wealthy, the powerful, the indigent and the unfortunate. Luck goes both ways people.....you get what you give.....even after you meet your maker!
